My work is known for an artisan style, like the old craftsmen. Frame parts made from scratch, smooth fillets and customizing every single detail possible.
I really enjoy the metalworking and the manual part. Since I have no particular favour, I make both fillet brazing or lugged frames and painting each one of the frames in house.

My focus is a functional frame that fits the rider and lasts long. Complete bicycles are also possible. My frames are mostly built from Columbus and Dedacciai tubes.

Slovakia also doesn't usually cross the mind when thinking of custom framebuilders, but Marek Parajka of Arko Bici might lift the profile of bicycle fabrication in Slovakia the same way Peter Sagan lifted it for cycling in general. The one man operation produces attention-getting custom steel frames and stems with exquisite detail and beauty.

Marek Parajka pochádza z obce Cífer pri Trnave. Remeselnícke predpoklady zdedil po dedovi, ktorý bol kováč, a po otcovi, ktorý bol klampiar. V stredoškolskom veku mu asistoval v jeho dielni, pomáhal mu s lakovaním a zváraním automobilových dielcov.

We've shared Marek Parajka's classically inspired work a handful of times over the years, most recently highlighting his vibrant Zutro, an adventure-ready machine with an entirely different demeanor but the same guiding spirit as the one shown here. Based in the village of Hradište pod Vrátnom in the serene Carpathian Mountains of Slovakia, Marek is known for his traditionally made bicycles with new tricks, and I was curious to see what he'd bring to the show.
